Zelenskyy Warns of New Russian Strike, France Vows Military Aid
“We know that the Russians are preparing for a new strike; intelligence provides information about this,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address, stressing that US and European partners must understand how such actions “discredit diplomatic talks.”
He also noted that he spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron by phone to discuss frontline developments, Russian losses, and ongoing diplomatic initiatives following recent meetings in Abu Dhabi.
Zelenskyy announced that France would deliver further military support this year, including aircraft, missiles for air defense systems, and aerial bombs. “There will also be additional deliveries this year of French aircraft, missiles for air defense systems, and aerial bombs,” he said on US social media platform X. Paris will also provide generators to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience.
Turning to domestic challenges, Zelenskyy highlighted Kyiv as facing the “most difficult situation” regarding heating and electricity after recent attacks.
Referring to international diplomatic efforts, he said that for negotiations to be effective, they must carry “real weight” for the people. “When the Russian strikes continue, when the assaults continue, it is difficult for people to feel that diplomacy is constructive,” Zelenskyy added.
