FOX SPORTS TO HONOR U.S. MILITARY AND VETERANS DURING SPECIAL BROADCASTS AT THE U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY AND WEST POINT
FOX Sports will honor the nation’s servicemembers and veterans during a special Veterans Day initiative Nov. 7–8, bringing two of its signature sports broadcasts to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
- As part of FOX Sports’ longstanding tradition of recognizing the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, BIG NOON KICKOFF will broadcast from West Point on Saturday, Nov. 7.
- On Sunday, Nov. 8, FOX NFL SUNDAY will feature both West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy throughout its broadcast.
The Veterans Day initiative reflects FOX Sports’ commitment to recognizing the contributions of military personnel, veterans and their families and providing a national platform to honor those who serve. "The U.S. Naval Academy is honored to open the Yard to the FOX NFL team for their November 8 broadcast, and we look forward to bringing millions of Americans straight into the heart of where our nation’s finest are forged,” said U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent, Lt. Gen. Mike Borgschulte. “This upcoming broadcast is about more than football games, it’s an opportunity to connect Americans with the high caliber servicemembers who have chosen to serve something greater than self, regardless of service. We are motivated to showcase the grit, discipline, and war-fighting spirit of our military, and we cannot wait to share that energy live with the entire country."
Both broadcasts will highlight the service, sacrifice and commitment of America’s military community while recognizing the unique role the nation’s service academies play in developing future military leaders. “Veterans Day reminds us that our Nation’s strength rests on generations of Americans willing to serve and sacrifice for something greater than themselves. At West Point, we honor their courage by preparing the next generation of leaders of character to carry forward that legacy of selfless service, grounded in Duty, Honor, Country,” said U.S. Military Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. James B. Bartholomees III.
